German car brand Volkswagen have confirmed that production has begun on a brand new variant of the Golf Estate which is to receive new height adjustments which alter vastly compared to the previous addition to the range. The vehicle itself will be officially unveiled in front of the general public and media next week from the Paris motor show. This vehicle will mark the arrival of the second generation all track model from the mass manufacturer and has been confirmed to officially go on sale from 2015. Its not just the ride height that has been altered on the car though as we also see some new additions come to the car involving the engine line up and specifications.
Changes have been made in a vast range across the length and width of this new addition and we see that the manufacturer behind this new variant have included the additions of a 1.8 litre petrol unit, a 1.6 litre diesel and a 2.0 litre diesel. Power for the variants range from 177 brake horse power for the 1.8 petrol to 108 and 148 brake horse power for the diesel variants. All of these engine units come in the manner of four cylinder turbocharged units and power is key when it comes to the new Golf estate all track. Riding height has been adjusted by 20mm and provides a better experience when it comes to driving off road too.
Volkswagen have also revealed the new changes made to the exterior of the car which include a brand new set of both front and rear bumpers, wheel arches and roof rails. There are many estate vehicles which are on sale right now and have delivered on competition for the previous Volkswagen estate line up these include the Citroen C4 and others like the BMW X3. The Golf estate and its brand new range of engines could help to maintain this competitiveness in the future.
Thanks to the new Volkswagen Golf estate dimensions and riding heights aswell as the extra components that come into play, we think that this model could be one of the biggest selling Golf variations in a long time especially when we take into consideration the price tag of around £23,000 that is expected to come along with it. Mid way through 2015 is also when the car is expected to be launched onto our roads.
