The Mercedes C Class 2014
July 1, 2013
The new C Class from Mercedes is due next year and pictures have been released of the new vehicle. The new C Class is getting closer and closer to production and there have been certain spy images showing the car during a winter testing in the Arctic circle. The pictures indicate that the styling for the new C Class model has been influenced rather heavily by the look of the new A Class and S Class.

There is a wide grille dominating the front of the model, with a three point star emblem at the centre. The C Class also gets a pair of oversized headlights which gives a more aggressive look to the C Class. The lights will be using LED technology that has been inherited by the latest versions of the E Class models.

At the back of the car, there are thicker C Pillars and a more sculpted boot which both mirror the look of the flagship S Class, whilst the twin exhausts are integrated neatly into the rear bumper of the vehicle. The model is taking on the Audi A4 and the BMW 3 Series which is no easy task, though Mercedes have a rather wide range of models planned for the future.

The Mercedes C Class will be unleashed in the early parts of next year, most likely in January at the Detroit Motor Show. A likely release date would be in the Summer of next year, along with the C Class Estate.

An ultra efficient petrol and diesel engine range should be expected, that includes a four cylinder engine that will be developed and built by Nissan, the first engine built in the United States, to be used in a mainstream Mercedes, whilst there is also a plug in hybrid model planned to help the company take on the IS 300 horsepower model from Lexus.

The car will be built on a modular architecture that is called MRA, this will allow the firm to offer it's 4MATIC four wheel drive system on right hand drive vehicles for the very first time, which will compete with Audis and XDrive BMWs that are Quattro equipped.
