The New Nissan Leaf to be Built in Britain

The Nissan Leaf model has been the pioneering of the Electric car industry within the last 18 months. During this 18 months Nissan has also enjoyed success with the Nissan Juke and the Nissan Qashqai models whilst breaking production records in the Nissan Sunderland plant.

In result of the success for Nissan in the UK, Nissan have decided to combine all of the successful factors above in the building of the New Nissan Leaf. It has recently been announced that the New Nissan Leaf model will be built in the North East Nissan Sunderland plant and will therefore be built to the highest standard and will be available to the mass at a much quicker rate.

Nissan have announced that the updated version of the Nissan Leaf will feature over 100 different tweaks and differences compared to the previous Nissan Leaf model. The have labelled the Nissan Leaf as the next chapter in the motor industry and more specifically in the electric car industry. The most important change that has been made to the Nissan Leaf, is of course the shorter re charge time. As technology continues to develop and grow, Nissan will be looking at ways of shortening the charge up time, in order to ahead of the game and more importantly ahead of competitors.

Manufacturers such as Volkswagen and BMW have looked closely at the success of the Nissan Leaf and the appeal of the electric car as they now have decided to develop a rival for the Nissan Leaf. BMW in particular have released an all new electric range of which will be based on existing models in the standard engine range of models.

The Nissan brand has responded to this move by improving the market leader in the Nissan Leaf model. The Nissan Leaf will once again be a step ahead of any other electric car rival out there on the market. The changes they have made, such as the cold weather capability and the improved driving experience is bound to win the brand more motorists and will help them keep hold of existing eco friendly drivers.

The move to build the Nissan Leaf in Britain is one that has surprised many in the industry as Nissan have only recently announced the move to build the Infiniti brands range of models in the Sunderland plant. Nissan have rescheduled a move to build other models in the North East and requested a mass increase in production numbers before investing in the plant itself. However, due to the success of the plant, the Japanese firm decided to build as many models as they can in the factory before they plan to build the new range of Infiniti models.
