The Audi R8 LMX arrives in limited stock

The fastest ever Audi R8 model has officially gone on sale. The bad news though is that only 99 units of the model have been produced. So the chances of you finding one of these vehicles could be quite slim. Some fast all round performers have been delivered by Audi over the years. Some of these include the TT and the A5. Nothing quite on the level that this all new R8 is at though. The best way in our opinion to describe this latest R8 model would be power crossed with sports. It looks great and is said to be a good driving experience also. The R8 LMX also makes history with this vehicle being the second ever car to ever use laser light technology. So enough with the talking about the specialities of this car, lets take a look into what kind of power the R8 LMX packs.

The impressive power and specifications of the Audi R8 LMX

So what kind of engine have Audi used in this new vehicle ?. Well power is delivered from the use of a 5.2 litre.V10 engine which produces a whopping 562 brake horse power and also delivers on 540NM of Torque. A seven speed, dual clutch, automatic transmissions system also helps the R8 LMX hit top speeds of 199 miles per hour which is helped to be carried to this speed limit from the 3.4 seconds it takes the vehicle to reach the 62 miles per hour area from a standstill. The R8 LMX is also made available as a four wheel drive variant only.

So how does the laser light technology work ?. Well the headlights are combinations of LED technology which is used for both high and low beams. Laser lights help contribute towards the high beam setting. A lot of automated features also come into play with the laser lights. High and low beam lights can be adjusted through a button located on the steering wheel whereas the laser light is activated by a small increase of speed. A camera located at the front of the rear view mirror also detects oncoming traffic and automatically adjusts the brightness of the lights accordingly. The total distance the laser lights will cover comes in at a total of 600 meters.

The BMW i8 was the very first model to introduce laser light technology by delivering 8 units to customers in Munich.

What does the Audi R8 LMX sell for ?

Well as we stated, the Audi R8 LMX model has only been produced in a total of 99 units so finding a version of this car on the market could prove to be quite tricky. If you are lucky enough to get your hands on one of these cars though, it will cost you a total sum of £160,025.
