The all new Kia Sorento going on sale this year

There have been just two generations of the Kia Sorento available since 2002 and now Kia have decided that it is time to introduce the world to the third lifecycle of the vehicle. It is a popular choice and seller for the Kia range and now the company will look to reclaim some momentum by introducing the new model this April. The vehicle is now in its production phase and has been given the green light for sales. Images of the car detail a bright White colour option with some new gadgets and changes made to the exterior design compared to that of its predecessors over the past thirteen years. It is said that Kia have brought more changes to this Sorento model that make the car better than ever and it could quickly become one of the biggest SUV sellers in 2015.

What is the new Sorento equipped with?

Kia will look to make a lot of changes to the model in order to have it enter an SUV market which sees vehicles such as the new XC90 from Volvo enter the market this year also. So what are the Korean based company doing to the new model to see it become a strong contender?. Kia are offering the car with a 2.2 litre,turbo diesel engine which paired with a manual six speed gearbox sees a power output of 197bhp. A top speed of 126 miles per hour is reached by the third generation vehicle and operates on a four wheel drive platform. An automatic transmission is however offered as an optional extra for customers. The steering setup has also been greatly improved to see the car handle better than ever before. Seventeen inch wheels are offered as standard but the option to upgrade to eighteen inch setups is also there. Parking sensors are also offered with the vehicle as optional upgrades too.

How much can the new Sorento be expected to cost?

Confirmation on the purchase price is yet to be revealed but speculation on the listing price is coming in at around the £30,000 + area. The Sorento will be available from Kia showrooms from April of this year. The car could be unveiled prior to this release time though at the Geneva Auto Show although this remains unannounced at this moment in time. Keep an eye out for the new Sorento as it is likely to be featured in the top ten SUV models in the 2015 year.
