Hyundai Announce New Sports Car Concept
Hyundai have been one of the most successful car manufacturers over the last few years and along with Kia have had the biggest market share and profit growth over the last number of years. As well this level of growth, Hyundai announced last year that they would not be able to meet demand and waiting lists for models will begin to stack up as the years goes on.
Peter Schreyer who has been held responsible for the success of the two brands has been appointed most recently as the first foreign president of the Korean brands. Schreyer was the design chief that was responsible for the synergy between the two brands. He first arrived a few years ago and was appointed having worked for the VW group for just over 10 years, he immediately began to draw up ideas and put them into action. The two firms together sold a total of £7.12 million vehicles last year, which a massive 8% increase on the previous year. With Schreyer in charge, the firms expect to remain competitive and will hope to achieve a positive increase in global market share year on year.
The new Hyundai Sports car may be a contributor to the growth in market share in years to come. Ahead of the New York Motor Show, the Hyundai model has been leaked on a certain website online which claims the concept car will have a total of 365bhp and will be named the HND-9. Now that the brands have both increased in reputation and value, they can push on to make a more luxury designed model to create a more premium look and feel. The leaked image displays a model that has a long bonnet and butterfly doors as well as a very large base body which we have described as chunky and yet Hyundai have described it as Voluminous.
