The second generation of Jaguar XF is spied

Word has been spreading recently about a brand new second life cycle for the XF from British manufacturer Jaguar and recently the vehicle has been officially spotted out and about testing under a heavy disguise. This brand new model is to be revealed at some point throughout the course of 2016 with an expected launch to occur through the same year. The very first XF model has been in production now for the better part of seven years and has been one of the most comfortable and powerful vehicles that Jaguar has on offer today. The vehicle was originally the replacement for the brands S Type which stopped production just before the XF was produced. The XF is an executive luxury car that has caught the eye of many drivers on a global scale. As recent as last year, we saw the first generation XF sell a total of 20,414 on European markets including the likes of Germany,Italy,France and here in the UK for 2013. So the vehicle is certainly still going strong and we believe that the addition of a brand new second life cycle for the car in 2016 will do nothing but help benefit the sales that the mass manufacturer has already seen to this date.

What new features are expected for the new XF ?

Well firstly one of the biggest changes that will be made to the car compared to that of the first generation is that the body on the second generation is all aluminium which will certainly make for a lightweight vehicle when it comes to hitting speeds and the power in which the car will carry. Agility will also benefit from this change. Regarding the engine range to come along with the car, the company have not yet confirmed what engines will come with the car but it is highly expected that we could see the additions of a 3.0 litre, V6 engine similar to that in the brands F Type model but it will come supercharged. The other alternative expected to come along with the XF is the 2.0 litre, four cylinder diesel and petrol engines and a 5.0 litre,V8 unit that will be the range topping engine.

From what can be made out under the disguise that was spotted, it looks like a larger rear window will be included,a more angular windscreen and a much longer rear end to the car than compared to that of the first version. With the power and some new features being taken into account, we see the likes of the BMW 5 series having some strong competition on their hands when the new XF does arrive. Other manufacturers such as Audi and the German firm Porsche may also have a fight on their hands.

What else can we say about the new Jaguar XF ?

Unfortunately it is too early to give a price tag that will come along with the car or even an expected launch date. We expect more of this information to be confirmed by Jaguar directly leading up the launch of the car which is expected to take place in 2016.Gap Insurance 123 Blog
