GapInsurance123 first began to provide great value Gap Insurance products in 2011. The brand was one of a number operated by ourselves, Aequitas Automotive Ltd, in the niche ancillary motor products field.
By providing a wide range of Gap products for a range of vehicles at some of the best premium prices in the market, GapInsurance123 soon became one of the leading names in the market. Featured by the likes of Which?, Money Saving Expert and Honest John, GapInsurance123 soon became the premier operated by Aequitas Automotive Ltd. 
After years of success, in 2017, our contract with our underwriters was coming for renewal, and the insurer announced that they were leaving the market for new policy provisions.
After careful consideration, Aequitas Automotive decided to mothball GapInsurance123 for new policy sales effectively. This allowed the current GapInsurance123 policyholders to enjoy protection until the expiry of their cover. In the meantime, Aequitas Automotive concentrated on developing sister brands Total Loss Gap, Easy Gap and Shortfall.co.uk.
As 2021 dawned, Aequitas Automotive Ltd set about the process to find a new product provider and underwriter to access complementary products to our other brands and a new range for GapInsurance123.
Today we are excited to announce GapInsurance123 is back. We have a range of Gap Insurance products underwritten by a consortium of Lloyds of London syndicates, managed by Arch Managing Agents Ltd. Needless to say, the financial strength of Arch is confirmed by 'A' ratings with all the major rating agencies.
But it does not stop there. The Gap Insurance products we provide carry, in our view, some great features. These would include a combined, 3 in 1 Vehicle Replacement Gap Insurance product, cash settlements to policyholders and a generous 45 day window to notify a claim from the point your motor insurer makes a total loss offer.
And finally, what confirms the value of the Gap Insurance products is combining the features with the premium prices on offer. We believe that the new GapInsurance123 pricing, which includes capped commissions for us as the broker, provide some of the best premium value in the market.
