Vauxhall to release new VXR Extreme

Vauxhall Astra VXR

It has received a number of rave reviews online and has been described as being the fastest and most lightweight Vauxhall to have been built alongside the Astra name. Vauxhall themselves have described the model as being the most powerful front wheel drive model ever.

The Vauxhall Astra VXR Extreme model is powered by the 2.0 litre turbo tuned engine that has the ability to power the model with over 296 bhp. The model has took on the extreme name and it really is an extreme. The Vauxhall brand are known for aggressive marketing and pricing in the automotive industry but not for aggressive models, however, the Astra VXR Extreme model is very much the opposite.

Vauxhall have been in a long running feud and rivalry with fellow US brand Ford, as the pair of manufacturers come up against each other in a number of car categories. Within the UK, the pair of manufacturers go head to head at the top of the UK sales chart for both largest market share and best selling car.

The Ford Fiesta, Ford Focus and the Vauxhall Astra and Vauxhall Corsa go head to head at the top of the UK Car Market for the top spot. The Ford Fiesta along with the Focus have topped the charts for over 12 months with the Corsa and Astra models at Vauxhall failing to break into the top spot.

The Astra model is set to be update in 2015 whilst rivals Ford are set to reveal a new Focus model towards the end of the year.

The Vauxhall Astra VXR model is set to make an appearance at the Geneva Motor Show next week and will join a host of manufacturers looking to make an impact. The model is set to be coated in carbon fibre at the Geneva Motor Show and will feature a new carbon fibre rear wing along with a front splitter on the model.
