Vauxhall Sandero Rival!

New Vauxhall Development

Vauxhall is stepping up the development of the new Dacia Sandero rival, with the small budget car allegedly going on sale in 2015. The car is scheduled to go on sale at the Geneva Motor Show next year in March. The brand new model could be wearing the viva badge and will sit alongside the Vauxhall Adam in a duo of models that are smaller than the current Corsa model.

This model marks the homecoming of the Viva name since the original's production was stopped in 1979. The model is allegedly going to be based on the Chevrolet Spark next generation. Though the models would become badge engineered twins, the competition between the models has been ruled out because of General Motors decision to pull Chevrolet out of Europe by next year.

Initially, it was thought that an Agila replacement would also join the the new small car line up from Vauxhall, though it is understood that that model is way off. It was hinted at earlier this year from officials that an Agila replacement could be here in 2016.

The official pricing for the vehicle has not been revealed as of yet, though given where the brand is pitching the vehicle, there is likely to be a starting price of around the £5995 of the Sandero.

Whilst the models design is mostly kept under wraps, from pictures across the internet, there is a central grille featured with low mounted fog lights along with round headlight clusters at the front of the car, with a rear window that is squared off and tail light clusters at the back.

Power for the vehicle will more than likely come from the range of Vauxhall Adam engines which means that the 1.2 and 1.4 litre petrol engines, that range from 69 brake horsepower for the entry level model, to 100 brake horsepower. The use of the Vauxhall Adam's new 1.0 litre turbocharged engine, which is available with 89 brake horsepower and 113 brake horsepower outputs, is not likely.
