Nissan tease the brand new Pulsar model

The first teaser pictures of the Pulsar model from Nissan, which is a car the same size as the Volkswagen Golf have been released across the internet, the car will be revealed fully next week and will be on sale from autumn this year.

Nissan is onto a winning formula with the Juke and Qashqai models, though Guillaume Carter, the vice president of sales and marketing has said that he believes a hatch is also necessary. He explained in a recent report that when research was carried out that there were many customers who said that they would never purchase a crossover. So the company knew that whilst they had the Qashqai and Juke models, a traditional B-Segment model and a C-segment hatchback was also needed.

The features and performance of the Nissan Pulsar

The teaser shots released across the internet show a grille and a design that looks as though it is inspired by the latest Qashqai model. The interior should be expected to get a Qashqai style design aswell, with a focus on technology and high quality materials.

With regards to the engines, Nissan are aware that there are many fleet buyers in the segment so the company will be looking the inclusion of a Bluemotion-style model, which features CO2 emissions under 90g and a fuel economy of over 80 miles per gallon. Other engines are expected from both the Qashqai and Juke line ups, including a 1.2 litre turbo engine that will rival the 1.2 TSI of the Volkswagen Golf.

Nissan confirmed in a recent report that a performance version of the Nismo will be offered in order for the brand to give a serious rival to the Volkswagen Golf GTI.

How much will the Nissan Pulsar sell for ?

The Nissan Pulsar name was originally introduced back in 1978 and since then has been used in global markets such as Australia. In some markets in Europe the Sunny was called Pulsar and was also used on Almera as we know it.

When the Pulsar is fully unleashed next week, there will be more details and pictures released. When the model does go on sale later on this year in autumn, it is expected to have a starting price of about £16,000.
