New Gap Insurance brand to increase consumer choice


If you are looking for a Gap Insurance product in the next few months you may well come across a new name in the market. In the next few days Aequitas Automotive Ltd will be launching the third Gap Insurance brand from the company, to compliment the current Easy Gap and GapInsurance123 products. As with the current brands, the new website will offer something a little different. Again our new brand will offer a product packed with great features and backed by the fact it is underwritten by one of the best known insurers in the UK market today.

So what can we expect that is different?

Well without letting the cat out of the bag too much, the new brand will feature some different policy terms and features, enabling any consumer a choice between three top product choices when they call the Aequitas Automotive team. We will also offer more flexible claim limits, options to defer and transfer cover, all designed to compliment and improve what we already have on offer with Easy Gap and GapInsurance123.

The biggest change will see the brand not only offering Gap Insurance but also a vast range of additional and complimentary products. These products will include tyre insurance, Dent and Scratch cover, Alloy Wheel Insurance, Motor Excess Insurance and much much more. In fact the new brand will provide access to eight different products at launch, with additional products to raise the number to a dozen or more within the next few months.

The next major feature may be subtle but significant. Each of the products found on the new brand will be able to be purchased individually. This may strike you as obvious but if you try to buy tyre insurance form another provider you will often find you must buy a Gap Insurance product as well. That will not be the case with our new brand, if all you want to buy is a tyre insurance product then that is what you will be able to do.

There will be increased discounts for buying multiple products at the same time, as well as more flexible payment options for our customers.

So when we see other providers only offer one choice of product from one brand, why does a company who already has two brands want to increase that number to three?

Well at Aequitas Automotive we feel that actually the competition in the Motor Gap Insurance market is not what it should be. There are only a very small number of brands that are prominent enough to offer a choice to consumers. Aequitas Automotive believes that there is more than enough room for one more in the market.

The additional products that Aequitas Automotive will include on the new website will mirror more what is being offered in motor dealers currently, where combinations of Gap Insurance, Tyre Insurance, Alloy Wheel and Dent and Scratch Insurance is bundled together as a 'protection pack' for consumers. Our new brand will offer a direct comparison and alternative for consumers.

Finally the additional advantage of the third brand in the Aequitas range is that it will provide higher sales volumes for our company. This enables us to lower margins and reduce the premiums that we charge. This can only be good for the consumer also, and we predict that we could see Gap Insurance premiums online fall by at least 25% over the next 12 months.
