The option to cover yourself with an Alloy Wheel Insurance policy is an obvious consideration. However, it can often come with a sting in the tail. This is because many Alloy Wheel Insurance products exclude cover for Diamond and Laser cut style alloys. A difficulty caused by this is that it often can be difficult to know if you have alloys of this more intricate construction simply by looking at the wheel. Also many of the mainstream manufacturers use Diamond and Laser cut alloys on standard vehicles these days.
If you buy an alloy wheel insurance that does not cover these types, even innocently, then you may simply see any claims turned down, and you are left with a bill and no cover to boot.
The new Alloy Wheel Insurance product from Aequitas Automotive (the company behind GapInsurance123, our sister site Totallossgap and more) is available at Totallossgap.co.uk. It can be purchased as a 'stand alone' product, and also contains some more generous features than some of the other Alloy Wheel products you may find, such as
- The ability to claim 4 times per year, as opposed to the maximum of 3 often seen elsewhere
- Only a £10 excess per claim, where you often find between £15 and £25 excesses with other providers
- The option to pass the policy on to another owner, should you sell the vehicle privately during the policy term
All these plus the all important ability to provide cover for the ever more popular diamond and laser cut alloys.
