New Dacia City Car

Dacia City Car

The budget brand Dacia have announced that they plan on releasing their cheapest ever model. It is believed that Dacia brand are basing a new city car model on the Renault Twingo and will be releasing the model with a price as close to £5,000 as it can be.

The Dacia brand is the fastest growing car brand to ever hit the UK and has sold over 10,000 models in just 12 months of being in the car market. The Dacia brand has built its name and reputation on being the best value for money brand on the market during what has been a difficult number of years in the European car market.

The question is, how is the Dacia brand managing to build and sell brand new models for the same prices as a ten year old Volkswagen Golf. Well, Dacia have taken the car market back to basics and simply fit essentials on the standard models and offer extras such as a radio or cd player on higher specification models.

The new Dacia city car model will be built on the outgoing Renault Twingo platform of which Renault have planned to replace with new rear wheel drive architecture. The Dacia brand have already adopted the mark 3 Clio model platform for the Sandero model.

Dacia have already announced that if there is volume in a specific car market then they will plan to invest and develop models to target that market.

A number of other manufacturers have recently announced an interest in developing their own budget brand to rival the likes of the Dacia. The Volkswagen brand has been trying for a number of years to develop a budget brand of their own and it seems that just a few weeks ago the firm finally had plans approved by the major executives within the firm.

Other manufacturers such as Nissan and Fiat have also expressed an interest in rivalling the likes of the Dacia in the future.
