MG on the comeback trail

MG is a brand that is well known in the UK. However it is also a brand that has seen its share of good times and bad. In recent years we have seen the rise of the MGF as it took to the hearts of the public, yet only to be followed by disastrous business failings and the inevitable sell off of the brand.

MG rises from the ash's again!

MG, now in the hands of Shanghai based SAIC Motors, currently boasts a 40 strong franchise dealer base in the UK. The brand has announced plans to expand this dealer network to 150 by 2015, with strong representation in the larger urban areas such as Edinburgh, Glasgow, Liverpool, Manchester and London.

The MG brand currently only sells the MG6 in petrol versions, but is planning to add a diesel version shortly. New models are also planned with the smaller MG3 and the Focus sized MG5 to follow as quickly as 2013.

It is great news for the romantics in the UK motor industry to see the MG alive and well again. With the plans of an ambitious car manufacturer behind the brand then MG looks to be on the up again!
