Some sad car industry news today regarding two of the world biggest car manufacturers from Japan, Honda and Nissan. The two companies are announcing more vehicle recalls which will add to the tally from last year regarding faulty air bags in some of their vehicles. The recalls last year were world wide as are these new ones that add to the tally. Honda and Nissan are two of the most well known car manufacturers known world wide. They both have proven to be a household name for is this number of recalls affecting them in a bad way ?. Well things are going pretty bad for the Honda firm right now as they are announcing job losses at their Swindon factory and now with production dropping more vehicles are being called in. Nissan have been on a high over the recent years thanks to success on their Qashqai models and the Juke vehicle but is this a drop down for them ?.
So how many of these models between the manufacturer will be brought back in ?. Well it has been stated that Nissan are recalling a further 755,000 models due to air bag problems and Honda a whopping two million vehicles world wide. The problem that exists within these air bags is that they have a defective part which could potentially cause the air bag to explode or deploy the air bag abnormally in the result of a crash. Japanese car maker Toyota have also suffered the same experience and recently announced a number of 650,000 vehicle recalls themselves.
Well from Honda's side of things, they have confirmed that models affected include the Honda Jazz,Stream,CRV and the Civic.
Sixteen vehicles for the Nissan brand are affected by this recall some of which include he Cube,Terrano and the Sylphy.
Fortunately the companies have confirmed that no incidents have been reported due to this problem at all. So it is good that fault has been detected early on. Sadly for a Toyota owner though, one incident has been reported which meant the burning of a seat cover in one of their vehicles.
