Ford to recall 1.4 million vehicles in the US

In some of the latest vehicle industry news today affecting the American car company known as Ford and some of their customers, the mass manufacturer has stated that they are recalling a huge amount of 1.4 million vehicles back to the production line in the US. The reasoning behind this recall is that a loss of power steering could soon occur in a range of different SUV models that the company currently has on offer around the US. The American firm have certainly proven to be one of the most recognised car companies around the world over the years since they were established a long time ago back in June of 1903. They are responsible for some of the finest selling cars around the world which include the likes of the Fiesta, the Focus and the Taurus which is one of the cars all set for the recall.

 

What are the faults on the SUV models from Ford ?

 

Well it has been stated by the Ford company that the reason a range of their SUV models are being recalled is down to a loss in power steering in some of these particular models. The like of some faults in the Taurus model has been stated to come into play because of corrosion. This is indeed a serious problem for some Ford vehicles and more importantly their owners. It has been stated that at least 13 deaths around the world have been linked to these faults in the Ford vehicles.

 

With this amount of vehicles to be recalled by the company, they are almost keeping up with British manufacturer Vauxhall who have recently had issues with safety equipment in their models.

 

Which vehicles from Ford will be recalled ?

 

The American brand have confirmed the range of models from the US that will be recalled to the factory. These models are:

  • Ford Explorer (2011-2013)

  • Ford Escape and Mercury Mariner (2008-2011)

  • Ford Fusion,Mercury Milan,Lincoln,Zepher,MKZ (2006-2011)

  • Ford Taurus Sedan (2010-2014).

These models listed above will be recalled for numerous reasons which include corrosion for the Taurus, power steering problems for the Explorer,Mercury mariner and the Escape. All other vehicles will be recalled for issues with floor mats.
