The issue of fuel prices increasing has been big news in the auto industry in the UK but today the popular supermarket brand 'Asda' have announced a cut on the price of fuel across their supermarket chains. Both petrol and diesel prices will be cut by the supermarket with prices dropping by 2 pence per litre taking affect from tomorrow just in time for the new year. This means that from tomorrow at Asda chains all around the country, petrol will now cost 107.7 pence per litre whereas the diesel alternative will be available at 114.7 pence per litre. Asda have issued a statement on the good news by saying “We're pleased to be giving drivers some early new year savings”.
Tesla have made the headlines this month by announcing a new 400 mile radius for their Roadster model which has been done via a simple software upgrade and is hoped to bring in much more custom and sales for the vehicle. Don't think that they have forgotten about the Model S though as this model has been in the news again today due to the company now offering battery swapping stations. Tesla are to introduce a range of these new stations which will allow drivers to drive in and replace their low battery unit for a fully charged one. The idea behind the new scheme is that Model S owners will be able to drive at a longer distance in a much quicker time than ever before. At the moment, just one of these stations are open in the world and it is located in California. The company have stated though that if it proves to be popular amongst drivers then they will look to expanding the stations around the globe for Model S owners.
Subaru have announced that they have officially hit their sales targets for 2014 in the United States. This week it was reported that Subaru have officially sold their 500,000th vehicle in the United States this year which is a big improvement on the 424,683 units that were sold in 2013. The company seen a nineteen percent increase of sales in September and October with that figure rising to a twenty percent increase for November. It has been stated that the new additions of both the Legacy and Outback updated models are two of the biggest sellers for the company in 2014. With these vast improvements in sales for the Japanese manufacturer, can they keep up the momentum and raise this figure even higher for the 2015 year?.
