Yesterday was a big day for the Porsche brand and their popular Cayenne model. It was at the Paris motor show that the brand officially revealed their brand new facelift to the Cayenne and a brand new SE hybrid version of the vehicle. The new addition to the range features some brand new changes to the majority of aspects of the car which include the interior, exterior and a brand new engine range to come along with the car. The Cayenne has been one of the Porsche brands flagship vehicles since 2004 and have received many changes over the years but none as big as the new model that was revealed yesterday. So what changes are thrown in with the brand new model that could potentially make it one of the biggest selling additions to the range?.
So firstly if we jump into the changes that have been made to the exterior of the car, we see that the vehicle now comes fitted with a redesigned bonnet structure and much larger front grille. The bonnet at both the left and right sides have also been more curved to help the car out when it comes to performing efficiently and aero dynamics. A brand new rear bumper, two part tail lights and a brand new quad exhaust system are just some of the changes that can be found at the rear end of the new Cayenne. S,Turbo and diesel variants also now come as choices at the time of purchase with all three variants coming with some great features. The S model receives a brand new 3.6,V6 bi turbo engine. Power from this engine has been increased to 414bhp with 550NM of Torque also being delivered. The Turbo unit is a 4.8 litre twin turbo engine which sees top speeds rise up to 173 miles per hour. A 3.0 litre diesel unit is also your other option in the range and an S diesel including a 4.2 litre V8 engine comes with the diesel range.
As you can expect, all three levels come with other pieces of kit for the car. If you opt for an entry level model you can expect to find the standard additions of LED daytime running lighting, automatic climate control, cruise control and front and rear parking assistance systems. A set of 19 inch alloy wheels, a sat nav system, air suspension and active suspension management is also found in the car.
A brand new hybrid version of the car is also set to go on sale which sees a 3.0 litre,V6 engine take a place in the car which is joined alongside by an electric motor delivering on 93 brake horse power. The engine puts out 328bhp alone. £61,474 is the purchase price that will come along with the SE hybrid. The S addition to the standard Cayenne begins at £60,218, £93,763 for the Turbo model and £49,902 for the diesel variants. The order books on all variants are open right now with the first set of deliveries to arrive in just eight days time on the 11th of October.
