In some exciting news today regarding the Fiesta model from American company Ford,we are pleased and excited to report that the Fiesta model has been officially named the best selling model in the United Kingdom ever. Since the model was originally introduced to the UK back in 1976 the vehicle has sold a grand total of 4,115,000 units !. We have seen the Fiesta go through six previous generations over the years and we are currently in the seventh generation phase right now. Ford have a bit of trend when it comes to best selling cars. For quite a number of years the Focus was the must own vehicle on the roads until it was taken over again by the Fiesta. Not far of the big selling figure though is the Escort which up until this month has shipped a grand total of 4,105,961 units.
So as we previously stated, we are currently at the seventh generation Fiesta model and over the years we have seen the car receive many updates and tweaks and a number of different variations. So which addition is it that customers seem to prefer ?.
Well it has been reported that around forty percent of UK owners decide to opt for the 1.0 litre,Ecoboost model which benefits from a turbo charger also. It has also been stated that nine out of ten people choose for the higher trim specs also which include Titanium, titanium X and the well established ST variations.
The Zetec model however has been officially confirmed as the biggest selling addition to the Ford Fiesta line up here in Britain.
So can the company remain as the biggest selling manufacturer in the United Kingdom into the future ?. With other top brands releasing similar models this year and next from the likes of Renault and Ford may very well have a fight on their hands to maintain this position.
