New Ultra Low Emission Zone in London
As the Government look to push the reducing emissions initiative, Mayor of London Boris Johnson has revealed plans for a brand new low emission zone for a certain area in London. The charismatic and somewhat idolised by the political world, Boris Johnson, has described the new move as a game changer for the capital.
The Government have recently announced the acceleration of a nationwide initiative of which will see a £32 million investment into the reducing emissions pot. The electric car is a vital way of reducing emissions and the growth in the popularity of the electric car will be imperative to the target that the government have set out. The Government have specifically targeted the electric car infrastructure as a way of increasing the appeal of an electric car and inevitably reducing emissions.
The Government have specifically allocated a massive £9 million to increasing the appeal of the electric car in the way of offering government grants for those who purchase an electric car amongst other initiatives. It has also been announced that the amount of personal tax on the purchase of an electric vehicle will also be reduced as it supports the reduction of emissions. The low emission initiative will see the cars on the road as we know it change and grow with the rest of technology.
We here at Gap Insurance 123 have seen the growth in the popularity of an electric vehicle as they continue to feature throughout our top ten most popular car list. The Nissan Leaf amongst other electrically involved vehicles have been as prominent as the likes of the Ford Fiesta and the Vauxhall Astra in our specific analysis of sales over the past 12 months. BMW and their electric contingent have also featured strongly on our sales list as they continue to keep the brand alive in all of the competitive sectors.
