New traffic laws to curb lane hogging and tailgating, have seen traffic cops pull over more than 5,000 motorists in the past six months. These figures came to light after a freedom of information request which was sent to all 45 forces to see how many were stopped and why. These laws allow police to issue on the spot fines and licence points to drivers for careless driving such as lane hogging, tailgating or wheelspins. Drivers can also be dealt with by the way of an educational course, similar to the drink driving scheme offered to cut the length of a driving ban.

The new car has been spotted testing near Opel’s Rüsselsheim HQ in Germany and at the Nürburgring. Plus, prototypes have been seen on roads near Millbrook proving ground in the UK. French Billionaire tycoon, Vincent Bollore, has stated that he will introduce the first ever electric car point to point scheme in the UK. The scheme will begin in the capital and will allow drivers to use smart cards or phones to book an electric Bluecar for short journeys across the city.

The Government recently promised £140,000,000 to help councils repair potholes on roads in the United Kingdom. This includes roads that suffered damage due to the major flooding around Christmas and the start of February. The Government recently promised £140,000,000 to help councils repair potholes on roads in the United Kingdom. This includes roads that suffered damage due to the major flooding around Christmas and the start of February. The Local authorities that were affected the worst during the recent floods in Britain will be receiving £36.5,000,000 to help with roads that were ruined by the floods, whilst the remaining funds will be shared out by the DfT (Department for Transport).
