Jeep offering free flights to New York with Grand Cherokee

As part of a deal between Chrysler owned Jeep and airline Virgin Atlantic, during the March plate change, the automotive company are offering customers two free return flights to New York when they buy a Grand Cherokee over the next two weeks.

Jeep's new deal

Fiat Group, owner of Chrysler and Jeep, are hoping the deal will improve UK Jeep sales. The company have also introduced new products to their line up in the form of the Grand Cherokee, Cherokee, new diesel engines and a small SUV called the Renegade which was revealed at the Geneva Motor Show last week.

The Chyrsler Jeep franchise has only just returned to the UK as the Fiat Group considered axing the brands when it received termination notices from nearly 35% of it's dealers, around 20 out of 58.

Alongside the free flights, new Jeep Grand Cherokee customers will also benefit from three year's finance at 0% APR, three year's free servicing, three year's warranty and three year's roadside assistance.

Head of the Jeep UK brand, Damien Dally, commented, “This year’s March Sales Event is bigger and better than ever before – following on in true American style. The Grand Cherokee already offers outstanding value for money and my advice to customers is: get behind the wheel and try it for yourself. If you buy one, we’ll help you celebrate with complimentary flights to New York.”

The 2014 Jeep Grand Cherokee

The original Grand Cherokee was launched in 2011 and was recently given a facelift for 2013. The front of the model features a seven slit grille and new LED daytime running lights. The rear gains tightened rear lights and a more subtle finish. The top spec Overland and Summit variants come with 20 inch chrome alloy wheels as standard, while inside the model gains a new eight inch entertainment touch screen, sat nav, MP3 and controls for heating and driver settings.

Power for the Grand Cherokee comes from three engine options; two diesels and one petrol. The lower powered diesel produces 188 brake horse power, is capable of reaching 0-62mph in 10.2 seconds and is only available in the Laredo model. The higher powered diesel is a 3.0 litre V6 which has been tweaked to offer 246 brake horse power, making the vehicle's 0-62mph time only 8.2 seconds. An all new eight speed automatic gearbox replaces the current five speed automatic.

The new Jeep Grand Cherokee range starts at around £37,695 for the 3.0 litre V6 CRD Laredo and rises to around £50,295 for the 3.0 litre V6 Summit.
