They say the classics are the best...

Today with a look into the current motorbike market in the United Kingdom and across other various places world wide, we take a look into a classic motorbike which is sadly not in production anymore but certainly left it's mark on the motorbike world...the XV535 Virago. This bike came courtesy of Japanese bike firm Yamaha and was originally introduced onto the market back in 1988. Production for this range ended ten years ago now but it could very well go down as one of the finest cruiser models that Yamaha ever produced. This model was the very first cruiser that Yamaha ever released and was given a great reputation for being excellent for first time buyers or even veterans of the motorbike industry. It certainly went down as one of the very best cruisers available on the market and certainly stood up to the likes of the Harley Davidson brand.

What features gave the Yamaha XV535 Vigaro that added advantage ?

So what was it that was placed into the cruiser during it's original days on the production line that made it stand out as a must own motorbike for so long ?. The addition of a 535cc engine was certainly a welcome one with a power output of 38 brake horse power originally being produced. This helped the bike boost to a total top speed limit of 100 miles per hour. It's not always about the speed or power as this bike made up for a lack of massive power with it's unique and good all round handling experience and agility. The braking suspension that continued on in the range over the years was said to be one of the finest of it's generation also with a good, soft suspension system and good high up ground clearance. Therefore making this particular model good for those bumpy road conditions.

The original cruiser model in 1988 had a small 8.6 litre fuel tank but come the time when the last generation rolled around we seen that the bike benefited from a 13.5 litre capacity.

Will you still find a Yamaha XV535 Vigaro ?

Brand new..unfortunately not no. You can however still find this particular model for sale second hand whether it be private or from a second hand dealer. If you're interested in making the purchase on one of these models, for the last generation model, you are looking at a figure of somewhere around the £1,680 area.
