The Return of the Gti For Peugeot
The term Gti is used significantly in the motor industry and Peugeot have not used the term for a number of years. However, the new Peugeot 208 will be the first model to hold the Gti title in the range and will come with a number of sporty and additional features.
The new Peugeot 208 has entered the supermini market as the firm looks to reclaim not only some capital but also some dignity. Peugeot Citroen seemed to be the biggest losers in the car market worldwide last year as they announced record losses for the company as well feeling the pinch with demand disappearing as the state of the European economy looked to effect the company personally.
Peugeot Citroen as well as other firms such as Fiat are looking to achieve a profit in the future and have based all new projects around aiming at growing economies such as China and the US as well looking at developing a new budget brand or a budget range to rival the success that has been the Renault branded Dacia models.
The Peugeot 208 has taken a similar route to Volkswagen as it has recently announced the entry into the rally world but not the world famous and renowned WRC but more the European Rally Circuit. The aim may be to get on the world stage of WRC once again after achieving so much with the Peugeot 206 model in previous years.
The new Peugeot Gti will be on sale for an estimated price tag of 18,995 after the supreme success of the standard 208 model since the turn of the year. The Peugeot 208 has been on sale for a matter of months, however since the turn of the year demand for the model seem to go through the roof and since then, the model has featured on both the top ten best selling list in the UK and the top ten best selling list in Europe
