We check out the new Mercedes S Class convertible

Spotted on numerous occasions over the past number of months, we have seen Mercedes Benz's new S Class convertible out and about on the road before it goes on sale this year. Now though perhaps one of the best images of the car to date has emerged online which shows the vehicle displaying the full front end of the car including the all new soft top roof with the only disguise being used on the back end of the car. The S Class is one of the most purchased ranges from Mercedes and it has a long and prestigious history which can be dated back to 1972. Offered in over seven different forms over the duration of the past forty three years, the S Class remains one of the best selling Sedan vehicles all around the world today. Does the range going S Class change things though?.

The new S Class convertible to alter future success for Mercedes

So with that question being asked, of course it will change things for Mercedes. Not in a bad way though, the addition of a new convertible model we think will certainly do a lot of good for the German firm especially considering the way the vehicle looks. In the image the car revealed a White paint job like we have seen from the brand in the past. Featuring that traditional single chrome bar grille and swept back headlights that we know and love about the S Class line up the car is certainly out to grab attention. Of course the big new fixture is the addition of a drop top roof. Made out of a Black fabric design the car was snapped with the roof up. It was in snowy conditions afterall. In the Summer time though having that roof down could certainly make the convertible look even more appealing. The rear end design of the car is still being kept under wraps. Both V8 and V12 engines are to be carried over to the model from the current S Class which means the biggest change is of course the roof.

When can we expect to see the S Class convertible officially?

Well we all know the model has been in the works but Mercedes are not giving too much away about the future of the car. We do know however that it goes on sale later this year. The image that has been shown makes the vehicle look like it is pretty much ready to hit the production line which could mean a surprise reveal at the Geneva Motor Show next week which would be nice. Prices are expected to start from around £105,000.
