In just two years time we are all set to welcome in the arrival of the brand new Mercedes E Class. The vehicle will be launched onto our streets here in Britain and across other various countries globally. The E Class was originally brought into play back in 1993 but before this the vehicle can be dated back to 1953 under other badges. It has proven to be a big seller for the German firm and is an ideal sized vehicle for the whole family. Badged under the E Class name, the vehicle has seen four generations on our roads with one of the latest models being introduced back in 2009. Since this time the vehicle has been offered as a sedan, wagon,Coupe and a convertible. With the brand new model coming in 2016 we see that from images that have been revealed of the car undergoing tests, it will come in the form of a standard hatchback to begin with.
From the images that have been revealed of the car, we can see some brand new features find their place onto the model including a new body structure which can be seen under the heavy camouflage that was covering the car during tests. Revised air intakes and a wider grille has also been included at the front end of the vehicle. These new features can also be found on the current S Class model from the same company. The model will come in on a rear wheel drive platform with around half of the body work being made from aluminum. This means that the E Class will be more lightweight than ever before and it has been reported that during the development of this car, a lot of attention has been focused on fuel efficiency and the overall dynamics of the car.
Regarding the power and performance attributes that will come along with this brand new E Class model, we believe that the engine unit to come along with the car will be shared with the new Mercedes AMG GT model. This means that you can expect to see the addition of a four litre,V8 twin turbo engine unit. From the launch the hatch model will be the classic saloon style but it has also been confirmed that estate, cabriolet and Coupe models will also go on sale.
Any other news from the brand is being kept quiet for the moment but we do expect to hear more on the car closer to the official time of launch. A price tag that will come along with the car also remains unconfirmed as of yet but more is to be announced closer to the release time which is set to occur in 2016.
