Today we bring to you the latest recall report focusing on three manufactures today and all for different reasons. First up on our list is a story which has been dominating recall news as of late and that is of course the Takata air bag problems. American brand Ford are one of the many companies affected by the recalls due to exploding air bags. Just yesterday the company announced that they are expanding their recall yet again for the same problem by recalling a further 447,000 vehicles to their list. Mustang models made between 2005 and 2008 and GT models between 2005 and 2006 are being brought back in for checks. These recalls also affect both Canada and Mexico and other countries on a global scale. There are over ten manufacturers who have been affected by the Takata air bag recalls with ever company apart from Chrysler and BMW making the recalls. BMW and Chrysler are yet to issue recalls over the airbags.
British firm Jaguar Land Rover are famous for vehicle such as the XF and XJ. They have seen great success with sedan vehicles in the past but it appears that something may have gone wrong this week for the firm as they have recalled a grand total of 1,571 sedan models in the US for an issue that could affect the brakes of the car. This certainly comes as a little bit of a blow to Jaguar as it is the XJ that has been affected. Some models badged under 2014 and 2015 may be affected due to the brake pipes on some models not being tightened enough which could lead to a late reaction to the brakes activating after the driver has hit them. A loss of brake fluid and the brakes cutting out completely are also other problems that could come to the XJ if not seen to. Jaguar have commented on the issue and have said that they will check over the affected models and will re tighten the joints and will even replace the brake fluid lost if need be to get it back up to full again.
Toyota are another company who have been affected by the Takata air bag recalls which have continued to expand for a range of brands. In even more recall news this week though, Toyota have announced that in a new batch of recalls they are to call back in 1.7 million vehicles world wide due to a range of different faults. Problems such as faulty fuel devices and fault fuel pressure sensors are to blame for this latest batch. The majority of these recalls are based in Japan with 1.26 million models there being called back in. North America and here in Europe are also affected by the recalls. 245,000 Lexus sedan models are also included in the line up. No injuries or accidents have been reported due to these faults and the Japanese auto maker has said that the vast majority of the recalled models were produced before the year 2010. Lexus IS 250 and IS 350 models made from 2006 to 2007 for the IS 250 and 2006 to 2009 for the 350 are affected. The other main vehicles which are to be recalled are the Toyota Corolla,Noah and Voxy models, Crown and Mark II models. Problems such as the steering,Axels and dimmer switches also contribute to the recalls.
