Lexus recalling close to 10,000 vehicles in the UK alone


The Lexus brand have issued a recall on close to 10,000 vehicles in Britain alone. Lexus are are a firm owned by the Toyota brand and are now the next in line to issue a recall after Toyota themselves amongst other brands. The issue behind the recall has been stated to be a fault with the fuel delivery pipe and a vast number of Lexus models will be affected by the recall. If the problem is not resolved, the firm have stated that a fuel leak from the vehicles affected could be the ending result. Some of the companies more recent vehicles are affected by the recall too including the popular IS and GS additions. The fault on these models was came across during the brands worldwide field report quality check.

Which Lexus models does this recall affect?

There is quite a long list of vehicles that are affected by this recall from the brand and it affects the vehicles that were produced between January of 2005 and the September of 2010. There are nine vehicle ranges from the Japanese organisation that are affected which include the IS 250, LS 460,LS 600hL,LS600h,GS 450h,GS 460, GS 300, IS F and the IS F 250C. Lexus have confirmed that no accidents or injuries have been reported to them from drivers in regards to this recalled fault.



If we look into the vehicles from the brand that are affected on a world wide scale, it has been confirmed that a total of 759,000 all around the world have been recalled with the same fault. Although the issue does need resolving if you own one of these luxurious vehicles, the firm have stated that drivers are still safe to drive their vehicle for now. The news of the 10,000 UK Lexus model recall comes just weeks after Toyota announced a total of three global recalls. Other companies such as Vauxhall with the
Adam and the Ford brand with 850,000 recalls for faulty airbags have also been affected in the past number of months.

 

What do you need to do next if you own one of these Lexus vehicles?

If you do own one of the vehicles listed above and it was produced between January 2005 and September in 2010, you can check your vehicle is actually on the recall list by making your way over to the official Lexus website where you can check the registration plate of your vehicle and it will make you aware if you are affected or not. If you are worried that it could be your vehicle recalled, Lexus will get in contact with you which will then lead to your vehicle being repaired at your local Lexus dealer with work on the vehicle stated to take around three to four hours.
