Kia Sportspace concept-revised Peugeot 208-Smart Fortwo updates

Kia have revealed their brand new concept vehicle which has been given the name of the Sportspace. The brand new model has been revealed live from the Geneva Motor Show. To begin, there is no confirmation that this particular model will go into production in the future but we would certainly hope so. There has been a lot of rumour that this new model could demonstrate the future direction in which the company will be looking to take their Optima range. There has been no confirmation on this as of yet though. The car was shown in a Red colour design with Black inserts around the bumpers and side skirting and looked very much in the shape of an estate. Kia are still keeping the vehicle very much a mystery model for the time being though as they did not reveal any information on the specifications to come along with the car or what sort of drive train the vehicle would be running on. When we hear more about this developing story, we will keep you informed with all of the latest.

More work incoming for the Smart Fortwo

The Smart Fortwo has been receiving a lot of attention recently and the Geneva Motor Show played host to even more attention brought the cars way. The brand have confirmed that this special model is now coming equipped with an all new, dual clutch transmission. The car was displayed under the bright lights in Switzerland carrying a bright Yellow paint scheme and a White interior. The new 'Twinamic' dual clutch system as Smart are calling it will come along with the one litre engine setup and will help the model to go just a little quicker as demonstrated by the 0 to 62 miles per hour speed time which is achieved now in 15.1 seconds. Smart have confirmed that this new system is to be offered as an optional extra for the Fortwo and can be chosen with certain trim levels.

Peugeot host new 208 changes in Geneva

We first heard one month ago that Peugeot would be updating their 208 model with a range of new add ons and we have now had our very first glimpse of the new model in all of its glory. The French brand yesterday confirmed new changes to the styling and design of the car and have also included a range of new engine changes which could prove to be the big selling point for the new model. Therefore that is where we will begin our look into the new model today. The majority of engines from the standard hatchback have been carried over to the car but now we also see the addition of a new petrol setup which comes completely turbocharged and gives out 110 brake horse power. All carried over engines are now Euro6 units thanks to some tweaks. Peugeot have secured this by including stop-start technology with the vast range of their diesel engines. The 1.6 litre Blue Hdi now returns just 94mpg which is a vast improvement.

Now with a look at the changes made to the exterior design, Peugeot yesterday announced and displayed new LED lights which are fitted both at the front and the back. New chrome inserts and the front grille has also been extended. Customers will now also have the choice between sixteen or seventeen inch alloy wheels. The alterations carry on inside of the car too with a new leather steering wheel and new materials used on the dashboard. The interior changes depend on which trim level you buy though as new additions come into play with the GT Line model and the 30th anniversary. GT Line receives Black and Red sport seating, new Red inserts into the grille and new alloy wheel designs. Active city braking and a reversing camera can be chosen as optional extras with the revised model.
