The new
Honda Jazz is set to be officially unveiled in November at the Tokyo Motor Show. The third generation Jazz model from
Honda, will be revealed later this year, which is ahead of it's release date in early 2014.
It has been said that the new model has rather a lot to live up to, following the success of the first and second generation jazz models. It is expected that the Honda Urban SUV Concept, which was revealed at the Detroit Motor Show in January of this year, will be the inspiration for the new Honda Jazz model. This is likelt to include a large gloss front grille, more sculpted metalwork and swept back headlights.
On the interior of the model, the Jazz will live up to it's reputation of offering excellent amounts of space. The new Jazz is expected to have a boot with around 400 litres of space, also magic seats which can be folded flat just by touching a button.
The platform of the new Jazz will be a new scalable one which will also be underpinning the production version of the Urban SUV concept, which is due to rival the Juke model from Nissan when it goes on sale next year. The new platform should give the new model a sportier handling, though still be comfortable on those longer drivers.
The engine range for the new Honda Jazz is expected to be similar with 1.2 litre and 1.4 litre efficient petrol engines and an upgraded version of the Jazz Hybrid.
Honda hasn't offered a diesel Jazz model before, though it could offer Honda's new 1.6 litre diesel enfine that was launched in the Civic model at the Geneva Motor show in March of this year, it will also be fitted to the CR-V later on this year. That engine emits only 119 kg of CO2 and develops 300 newton metres of torque.
The price for the new Jazz model hasn't been revealed as of yet, though it is expected to start from around £14,000 with the hybrid version likely to cost around £17,000.
