The latest in motorcycle news for 19-03-2015

It has become one of the most exciting dates on the race calendar for the Moto GP World Championship and the very first race of the season raced at night in Qatar is just ten days away. The 2015 championship will kick off with this race and testing on the track has already began a week in advance. There were originally three days planned for testing and with some good showings in the first two days, the third day however came to an early close due to the sheer amount of rain that was coming down in Qatar. At the end of the three days saw the Ducati team in the lead which could be a good omen for the team this year. Ducati were followed by reigning and defending world champion Marc Marquez riding for Repsol Honda in second place with his team mate Dani Pedrosa managing a sixth spot. Two big surprises for the tests were Jorge Lorenzo and Valentino Rossi for Yamaha who finished both fourth and fifth. Both described the tests as being difficult. All can change on the big day though and you can join us here at Gap Insurance 123 as we bring you the latest in race results and news throughout the duration of the 2015 season.

A V4 road bike on the way from KTM?

Thanks to brand new test images which have been revealed over the internet, there is now some heavy speculation making the rounds which shows that KTM could very well be producing their very own V4 motorcycle for the road. When we think of the V4 we have to think about the Aprilia Tuono V4R and it look as if the new KTM model is a heavily revised version of the motorcycle. The bike has been spotted on the streets of Spain over the past number of weeks on multiple occasions. A big 999cc engine is expected to be included with the new model. For the time being we will keep an eye out for more testing images of the bike and will also provide you with more information as and when we receive it on the new V4 road bike.

A special edition Kawasaki W800

Kawasaki have revealed a special edition of their W800 model which will be set to go on sale but will be aimed only at the Japanese market. The W800 is a unique motorcycle for the brand as it offers more of a retro design rather than sports styles. Unfortunately though sales of the machine here in the United Kingdom and across other European countries has slowed down. Kawasaki have however brought updates to the new model with a Black fairing, golden wheels and metallic paintwork being the centres of attention for the special edition. Kawasaki have announced that only three hundred units of this special edition W800 will be produced and sold in Japan. With the lack of sales that the bike is receiving here in Britain though is the sales of these models in the UK something that could gather more attention to the bike?. Let us know your thoughts on the matter.
