The 2015 year is set to introduce us to a whole new range of vehicles in the majority of segments offered in the car industry today. One of the big sectors that are to receive some big changes next year consist of the sports car industry. One of the biggest, most powerful and most attractive vehicles set to go on sale is of course the new 458M from Italian firm Ferrari. The vehicle will be available from Ferrari dealers from March and will come in with a cost estimated to come in at around the £200,000 area. The new 458M has been seen this year testing under some heavy disguise but the mirrors gave the car away that it will still receive that eye catching Red paint scheme that the Italian brand are so famous for. A two part grille was clearly visible with the silver Ferrari horse located in the middle of the two. Specifications and other features of the car are being kept very quiet for the moment but there is a strong potential for a 3.8 litre, turbocharged engine to arrive in the car much in the same manner that it did in the California T model. It is difficult to estimate a performance output with no confirmation on the engine but judging by what we have seen from the California T recently, a 3.8 litre engine would see the 458m hit out around 650 brake horse power.
One of the biggest contenders that is expected to await the arrival of the 458M is of course the McLaren 650S which has brought the fight to the traditional 458 from Ferrari. The 650S was first produced just this year and has gotten a big reputation as a very powerful sports car on the market. It is interesting that if Ferrari choose a 3.8 litre V8 from the California to find its way into their car as the fight would vastly increase due to the fitting of the same unit in the 650S from McLaren. The McLaren engine comes twin turbocharged with handling, dampers and suspension performing more efficiently than ever before. The 650S can be purchased as either a coupe or convertible model and a full set of LED headlights also stand out well. Power for the car is where its true potential rests though and we see this demonstrated by an output of 641bhp. 678NM of torque is also delivered from the 650S which means an increase of 137NM more than the Ferrari 458 Speciale model. The McLaren 650S certainly holds a strong place in the hearts of many super cars fans around the world as were sure the new Sports Series model will do too but is it enough to contend with a new 458M?.
Now as you can see, if Ferrari are to choose a V8 engine for the new 458M, that is where the trend in today's post continues. You will notice then that each contender on this list today receives the fitting of a V8 engine unit. This addition from British brand Aston Martin is no different. The Vantage is very well known for its assertiveness on the road and the overall power that it produces. It has everything from looks to comfort to power. Speaking of power, what makes the V8 Vantage something special especially when it comes to seeing of other vehicles such as the McLaren 650S and the Ferrari 458M?. Well the power provider is one of the biggest in this list as it comes in the form of a 4.7 litre, V8. A manual six speed gearbox or a sportshift automatic transmission or on offer with the car. The overall result power wise from the car comes in the form of 420bhp. Power wise the likes of the Porsche 911 crops up as a contender as does the Jaguar F Type.
So which of these three vehicles takes your fancy more?. Who currently rules the road?. Is it the McLaren 650S or the Aston Martin V8 Vantage?. Will either of these two be strong enough to challenge the Ferrari 458M next year?.
