Subaru WRX STI
The Japanese manufacturer Subaru have recently announced that they have faith once again in the UK Car Market and plan on bringing a number of models back to the UK. However, whilst they plan on bringing a number of models back to the UK they do not plan on bringing a more powerful WRX STI model.
It was over 12 months ago when Subaru announced they were considering pulling the remaining Legacy model from the UK car market, therefore leaving the market completely. Subaru have built up its name and brand recognition around motor sport and the world rally championship in particular.
The Subaru UK representatives insist that they do not plan on releasing a new model a long the same lines of the CS400 Cosworth model. The Japanese firm have insisted that the model would be a niche within a niche and not produce the numbers necessary.
It has also been rumoured that the Subaru brand plan to join the long list of lustrous manufacturers who have produced an SUV model. The SUV market is one of the most popular markets today and a number of the worlds largest manufacturers have released plans to build a new SUV model.
Volkswagen, Porsche and Audi have all experienced success in the SUV market and plan on continuing the success with a number of new models. Porsche are set to release a new Macan model in the next few months, whilst Audi have released a number of sketches referring to the Q4.
Citroen are ready to take a considerable amount of market share in the crossover car market whilst also developing a new DS badged model for the SUV car market.
The VW Group have also announced that they plan on releasing an SUV model under the Seat and the Skoda name. It would be more of a surprise if the Subaru firm did not develop an SUV model rather than if they did.
