Are Japanese car giants Mazda about to reveal the future of our car industry ?. A sketched image has recently been revealed of the firms brand new CX-3 model ahead of its officially debut at this years LA motor show which takes place this month on the 19th of November. It has been confirmed that the version of the vehicle that will be displayed at the event will indeed be the full production version of the car and not just a concept model. Mazda have not made launch time information on the car public as of yet like they have with the the Mazda 2 and the brand new MX5 but with the CX-3 incorporating a lot of both of these vehicles features, this leads us to suspect that a launch for this model is not too far behind these vehicles. So could we see this car go on sale throughout the course of 2015 and what features can you expect to find in this brand new addition to the Mazda family?.
What do we know so far about this new CX-3 addition from Mazda?
Well firstly the sketched image of the vehicle that was revealed by the mass manufacturer shows the car in a bright Red paint scheme with large wheels and a chrome front grille surround. The image also shows that the chrome surrounded grille links up with the headlights fitted and a sloping roofline has also been fitted. Body creasing along both the sides and the bonnet have also been fitted to the CX-3 and are visible from the image revealed. We believe that this has been done in order to help increase agility and a more performance based drive on the car.
The release teaser from Mazda has stated that the car will be fitted with the companies complete line up of SKYACTIV technology. So what does this mean as far as the engine range is concerned?. Well this means that the engines used in the Mazda 2 will be carried over the vehicle therefore including a 1.5 litre petrol unit and a 1.5 litre diesel engine with between the two units producing between 104 and 113 brake horse power.
Are Mazda going to make an impact at the LA motor show?
It has also been confirmed that this year at the Los Angeles motor show, the brand are also to include a brand new CX-5 and the Mazda 6 also alongside a new SKYACTIV engine which is expected to deliver around the 300 brake horse power area. With this in mind we do have to wonder as to whether or not this engine may also be found as an option in the new CX-3 from the time of launch?. There is no word as of yet regarding an exact launch date or even a price tag that will come along with the new CX-3, we do expect to hear more on this matter from the event though.
