Kia Plan for Toyota GT86 Rival

Kia Plan Toyota GT86 Rival

The Kia design team has revealed that the successful brand has began working on the rival to the Toyota GT86 in an attempt to turn the company from the upcoming brand to the aspirational brand to be inspired by.

The ideal is to build an affordable two seat rear wheel drive Coupe. This of course will rival the sales of the Toyota GT86 which itself has been a huge success and was one of the nominated models for the Car of the Year 2013. Kia have built a brand recognition along with sister brand Hyundai in the development and design of their models and plan to continue the design house style throughout the range whilst expanding into other competitive markets such as the two seater Coupe.

Kia along with this announcement, revealed that the new Kia Soul model will look to have a number of cars in the small range that will look to be the firms Mini or Beetle rival. The Kia Sould has received a considerable amount of interest at the recent New York Motor Show as the model turned up alongside the Wonder Woman painted Kia Sportage.

The Soul based range is thought to go from a Two Seater Sports car all the way through to a Kia Soul Pick Up Truck and maybe even a Crossover Soul model. Kia sister brand Hyundai have also announced a development of a two seater sports Coupe which is further down the development line than the current Kia Concept.

The Hyundai HND-9 will be a new Luxury Sports Coupe model that will be designed towards a GT model rather than the traditional Sports feel. This model will also be rivalling a giant in the car market by challenging such models as the Jaguar XK. Kia along with Hyundai have looked to develop the brand over the coming years and will look to do so as demand for their models continue to increase.
