The month of September is one of the busiest of the year when it comes to the car industry. License plate changes occur during this month and for many many years has been a hot topic in the automotive trade. The first six months of this year have been the best in the country since 2005 when it comes to new car registrations. With that in mind though, this year car dealers have been urged to maintain their focus on used vehicles and selling of them for the month of September. With the Volkswagen Golf topping the charts for the first six months of this year, focus will certainly be maintained on European car markets.
Kirk Frank who is the head of national sales over at Alphera UK has stated that “With the new car market being driven by consumer offers,it is going to be a requirement of dealers to come up with inventive and creative financial offers on used cars. The price differential and the offer need to be attractive enough to drive showroom and internet traffic on used stock”.
Used cars have certainly proven to be just as big a part of the car trade as new cars. With many people these days looking for finance deals amongst other offers, maintaining focus on the used car sales aswell as new sales could prove to be a clever move for dealers not just around the UK but across the globe too.
For the first six months of this year the year on year rise of new car registrations was up by 6.2%.
Without a doubt in our minds, the used car trade is just as popular now as it ever was. New car registrations are certainly seeing a fantastic rise as the years go by. The likes of Audi this year have sold 85,000 more vehicles so far than ever before for the first six months which is definitely a good sign for the car industry. We believe that given the right offers and dealers on the used car trade also could very well bring in much success for their respective manufacturers even for this coming September.
