Audi S1 Revealed

New Audi S1

Audi have revealed the new S1 model at the Geneva Motor Show this morning. The model turned up in a metallic yellow colour and immediately caught the eye of many of the worlds automotive journalists.

Volkswagen have revealed that the Audi brand is set for its biggest year of sales this year and plan on attacking the market aggressively with a range of new models. It comes after the Audi R8 was accused of being mis marketed and classed as a missed opportunity.

The Volkswagen Group have openly admitted that they will be making a charge for the top spot in the worlds best selling car manufacturer. The firm plan on pushing all brands of models including the Seat, who today have revealed the fastest FWD model in the form of the Seat Leon Cupra model.

The new S1 model at Audi will be fitted with a 2.0 litre turbo engine which is capable of delivering 228 bhp. The model is tuned by the Audi performance arm who have a strong influence on the R8 models. The S1 Audi model has the ability to reach 0-62mph in just 5.8 seconds and the five door sportback variant just 5.9 seconds.

The new bodykit on the S1 also gives the Audi more of a sporty feel. However, the look could get even more aggressive and even more sporty looking. This is because the Audi brand plan on giving motorists the option of having a Quattro body kit fitted on the model.

In terms of the colours on option, it has not yet been confirmed, however, the Vegas Yellow that the model on show is coloured, will definitely be on the options. The differences between the A1 and the S1 at Audi are mostly on the exterior of the model. There is a distinct difference in the shape of the model and the headlights seem to be that little bit more sharper.
