The new 2015 Audi A1 has already been spotted testing, meaning it could be set for an official debut at the upcoming Paris Motor Show in October. The new A1 range will be face-lifted versions rather than actual all new models. As such, Audi will be giving the A1 and A1 Sportback their revised corporate look, including the angular grille that features on the new Audi TT, as well as subtle changes to the front and rear bumpers.
At the moment, engine choices are unconfirmed though the engines used in the new VW Polo are highly likely to make their way into the Audi A1 line up. They include a set of low capacity three cylinder diesels, the most frugal of which can return nearly 90mpg and CO2 emissions that mean it easily qualifies for free road tax.
Another option which would make sense in the new A1 is a turbocharged version of the VW up!'s 1.0 litre petrol unit. It also qualifies for free road tax and can return economy of 69mpg.
The revised A1 is set to carry some of the subtle revisions first seen on the new Audi S1. Those include rectangular fog lights, reshaped headlights and re-styled rear lights. The new car is also set to get revised front and rear bumpers, plus a more modern grille. The vehicle shares many of it's parts with the Volkswagen Polo, meaning it is likely to get that car's updated touchscreen infotainment system which has a function that allows it to mirror the display of your smartphone. It would also mean button clutter on the dashboard can be kept to a minimum.
Inside, as it is heavily influenced by the S1 the interior is expected to gain some cosmetic changes, such as upholstery and interior trims.
More details of the A1 will be released closer to it's public debut. The new Audi A1 is expected to go on sale in early 2015 with prices closely matching that of the current A1 line up, ranging from £14,000 to £25,000.
