A new Porsche 911 Turbo
Porsche are set to release the next 911 Turbo before the end of the year and the cost of a standard model will be somewhere in the region of £118,349 and will produce 514 bhp. The model is already being compared to that of the S model which currently sits above the standard model in the Porsche range.
In terms of the performance figures there is little difference other than the 39bhp in the higher S model which will cost you an extra £22,503. However, in terms of pure performance, there is little difference between the two Porsche models.
What we are yet to see is an electrically powered Porsche model capable of such speeds. However, in terms of electric car developments, German manufacturers have been busy. All of Volkswagen, Audi and BMW have developed a whole range of electrically powered vehicles.
The electric car has gone from strength to strength here in the UK as sales figures have more than doubled in the last 12 months. The Nissan Leaf model has been the trend setting and somewhat pioneering car in the electric automotive industry. Other manufacturers such as BMW and Audi have been forced to respond .
BMW have developed the I Range of models to rival the likes of the Nissan Leaf in the next number of weeks with Audi going along with the e-tron developments. Volkswagen have also gone with the abbreviation of the e for both the Golf and the Up. Volkswagen insist that both the Volkswagen e-Up and the Volkswagen e-Golf have no compromise in quality or drive with the new electric motor.
It will be very intriguing to see what the Porsche brand do in terms of fuel economy and build over the next number of years and more interesting to see the electrical developments on the current Porsche range.
