Three new vehicle recalls announced

Three new vehicle recall stories have come to light over the duration of the past week with two of the big stories focusing once more on the world wide Takata air bag problem. We have seen these recalls affect numerous manufacturers including Nissan and Lexus but one of the brands issuing the most recalls over the situation is Toyota. It was this morning that the Japanese firm have officially expanded the number of recalls due to Takata air bags. The fault with them is that countries in humid conditions have been causing the air bags to not function properly and some fatalities have also been recorded due to shrapnel being fired into the drivers face from the airbags. Toyota have today announced that they are recalling a further 185,000 models with the main focus on Japan and China. A total of nineteen Toyota models are affected and five thousand vehicles are affected in China alone. It has been confirmed that this further recall affects some models built between September of 2002 and December in 2003. We should note that the fatalities concerned are not linked to Toyota models and no injuries or accidents on Toyota vehicles have been reported.

Honda to also expand their Takata recall

The main amount of recalls from Honda on Takata air bags are focused in the United States and the firm have announced that they are to recall further models which will span across all fifty states in America. The brand are now also in talks with other air bag providers to see if they can have replacement parts issued by them in order to help with the situation. Other companies such as Ford,Mazda and BMW are also affected by these further recalls. It has recently come to light that some faults with the airbags have now been reported outside of humid states which is why Honda have issued the further recalled vehicles in order to look into the faults of the airbags. If your vehicle is affected by these recalls in the US Honda are to contact you to make you aware of the situation.
