A new Renault Clio Hot Hatch?

A new Renault Clio Hot Hatch?

It has been rumoured that a senior Renault executive has hinted over the possibility of a new hardcore version of the Renault Clio model designed by the RenaultSport team.

Apparently, the Renault team have based the whole idea of designing a new model on the opinion of customers and motorists who have purchased the latest Renault Clio model. However, the Renault Clio model has been under criticism of late of being too easy to drive

A number of motorists have criticised the model before driving it and then changed their minds following the drive, however, the majority of tests highlight the easy element to driving the Renault Clio model and insist that the model is not rough enough.

Renault have been looking at ways to expand their current range of models following the disappointing sales year that was 2012. The year of 2012 was a struggle for a fair few of manufacturers with Renault being one of them. Although the brand didn't do as bad as the likes of Peugeot and Citroen or Fiat brand, it did achieve a decrease in sales compared to the following year.

However, the Dacia brand at Renault was the pioneer of 2012 and a brand that has since set the example of how to approach the market with a budget brand. Dacia with the Duster and other models achieved a larger market share than the Renault model in the top market within the biggest car market in Europe, Germany.

Dacia have been that much of a success during the economic uncertainty, that other manufacturers such as Nissan and Fiat have pondered the idea of introducing a new budget brand along with a name that people may be used to.

Renault remain keen to push the Dacia brand and use the raised capital to expand and develop a new range of models which very well may include a new hardcore Renault Clio model.
