The New Audi A3 e-tron at Gap 123
Audi along with the Volkswagen Group have decided to attack the electric car market in an attempt to counteract the success of the Nissan Leaf and other models within the UK car market. The Audi A3 e-tron model will not be a pure electric drive model and will be a plug in hybrid model powered by a 1.4 litre engine along with an electric motor.
The electric car market within the UK has been an interesting observance, as the sales figures have rocketed and the popularity of an electric car model continues to increase. The UK Government have decided to offer an incentive into the purchase of an electrically powered vehicle due to the influence it has on the emissions of the vehicles on the roads of the UK.
The new Audi A3 e-tron model will join the likes of the Volkswagen e-Golf and E-Up in the attempt to take the electric car market by storm. The Nissan Leaf model currently has the greatest market share of the electric car market has achieved sales figures which forced other manufacturers to stand up and pay attention.
BMW have only recently announced that they will be building a whole new range around the electric car and hybrid developments at the brand. With BMW announcing their intentions, the Volkswagen Group have had to respond and have done in a different manner.
You may have noticed that the likes of Volkswagen and Audi have decided to re-develop existing models such as the A3 and the Golf rather than develop a completely new model like BMW have done. It will be interesting to see how the other manufacturers choose to enter the electric car market. It will also be very interesting to see if the popularity of the Nissan Leaf remains with the new additions to the market.
The Audi A3 e-tron model along with the likes of the Volkswagen e-Golf and the Volkswagen e-Up will be joining the market soon and it will be interesting for you to tell us what you think of the new electrical developments within the UK. So, if you own a Nissan Leaf or a Audi A3 e-tron then why not let us know what you think about your car.
