Ford Focus Ecoboost is the most efficient model in it's class

The most efficient petrol powered vehicle in it's class is the new tweaked Ford Focus 1.0 Ecoboost.

Ford recently unveiled an even more efficient version of their Ford Focus model, the three cylinder 1.0 litre EcoBoost, which produces 99 brake horsepower, with a fuel economy of 67.5 miles per gallon and 99g of CO2 emissions. These figures make the car the only petrol powered one in it's class that emits less than 100g of CO2.

This outstanding figure has been achieved by fitting a range of fuel saving econetic technologies and remapping the ECU. The fuel saving technologies include aerodynamic tweaks to improve airflow under the vehicle, low resistance tyres and altered gear ratios.

The current model, compared to a first generation 1.6 litre engine Ford Focus, it is fitted with a 99 brake horsepower 1.0 litre Ecoboost engine, which means it is more powerful as well as producing 47% less CO2.

The 1.0 litre Ecoboost engine that has been tweaked now extends the model range to three. There is a standard version which develops 99 brake horsepower and emits 109g of CO2 and an 123 brake horsepower version that emits 114 g of CO2 that are available already.

The 1.0 litre Ecoboost engine has already been a huge success. It is available in the Ford Fiesta Supermini, the B-Max, C-Max and the seven seater Grand C-Max aswell. The company also has plans to make the engine available in the Mondeo models aswell as a range of their commercial vans. The brand new engine will be available to order from early next year.
