Renault to Replace the Espace and Twingo Models

Renault to Replace the Espace and Twingo Models

The French Manufacturer Renault are looking to make some vital changes to the current Renault line up. The Renault Espace has been one of the most featured models on the roads of the UK and Renault are looking to replace it.

The demand for the Renault Espace models has slowed gradually over the last 4 years and Renault have finally decided to replace the Espace model. The Frankfurt Motor Show will look to be the unveiling date for the Renault brand to release new Renault Espace and Twingo replacement models.

Renault have already confirmed that the Twin Z will make production and will be joined by the possible replacement for the Twingo. The current Twin Z model will be built on the Mercedes Benz platform along with the Smart generation of models. Alongside the Smart models, Renault may look to develop an electric version of the Twin Z as the model is believed to have been inspired by the previous Renault 8 model. The Renault Twizy model is another interesting development which may help in the production of an electric Twin Z.

The New Renault developments will look to use the Mercedes Benz platform as a route to success as the models will also look to use a rear mounted engine to drive the rear wheels. Renault already has a reputation for building small rear engined models such as the Renault 8 and Caravelle models.

In terms of the Espace replacement, Renault have not yet confirmed a new model but it is however, planned to be unveiled at the Frankfurt Motor Show in September. The appeal of the Espace is no longer there and what used to make the Espace popular with customers has gone in the opposite direction and no longer exists.

The large windows and thin pillars along with the heaps of space within the cabin used to entice the customer and appeal to them through the mass space and feel the model has. However, Renault insist that the appeal of the Espace no longer exists.
