All new Ford Kuga

The Ford Kuga model was originally a rather overlooked member of the family. Despite the models sharp handling, distinctive looks and rather practical interior, the compac SUV still struggled to make much of an impact on the sales charts. To hopefully revive the fortunes of this model, Ford have gone ahead and launched a new version. The latest Kuga, which has been developed in the United States, is larger and better equipped than it's predecessor. It also benefits from an overhauled engine line up and a host of new hi tech options that are aimed at boosting the model's appeal within the showroom.

The designers at Ford have tried to carry over a number of the previous car's characteristics with regards to styling, these include the twin power bulges found in the bonnet of the car and the profile, though there is no denying the brand new Kuga's larger dimensions. The car is given a more rugged off roader look by grey plastic cladding on the lower part of the body. The titanium model benefits from 17 inch alloy wheels and extra chrome and gloss black inserts on the grille of the car.

The Kuga's interior has been largely influenced by the Ford Focus Hatch, with the same centre console layout and the deeply recessed dials with distinctive blue needles. There is plenty of room for adjustment for the seats and the wheel to help the driver and passengers get comfortable, whilst the high riding stance provides a good view of the road.

Most of the plastics are soft to the touch and the interior feels as though it has been put together robustyly. There is plenty of kit too, with a USB connection, Bluetooth and dual zone climate control. The car also comes with the SYNC system from Ford, which allows the stereo functions to be controlled by voice and will also read aloud text messages on your phone. (Best make sure you're alone before it does the latter).

As is expected of a larger vehicle, there is more room on the inside. Three adults can sit comfortably in the back of the vehicle. There is plenty of useful storage with the car, including door bins, a large glovebox and cup holders in the centre console. There is also a £700 keyless entry package that can be specified that includes a powered tailagate that can be opened by a foot being waved under the bumper of the vehicle.

The starting price for this vehicle is said to be £25,545.
