The All New Ford Focus Electric

The All New Ford Focus Electric

As the appeal of the electric car continues to grow and especially in the UK, Ford have decided to develop the all new Ford Focus Electric. The Ford Focus model itself has enjoyed a successful year of sales in both 2012 and the first month of 2013 as the model sits just behind the Fiesta in the UK sales chart.

The Ford Focus Electric comes on the back of the recent success of now rival model in the form of the Nissan Leaf. Nissan themselves enjoyed a successful year of sales as the Qashqai and the Juke models took the market by surprise as they developed a new way of life in the form of a crossover model. The Nissan Leaf on the other hand offered a more greener way of living with lower emissions and obviously a much better fuel economy.

All of the Qashqai, Juke and the Leaf have forced other manufacturers to build and develop a number of models to rival the three models at Nissan. Ford have produced the new Eco Sport to rival the crossover models and the new Ford Focus Electric will of course rival the Nissan Leaf.

The appeal of the electric car is forever growing as it has been everywhere in the automotive world in the last 6 or 7 weeks. The UK Government have been pushing for the development of the Electric car market over the past 12 months and have only recently announced a new budgeting plan which will see a £32million budget planned around the electric car market alone.

Of the allocated money the electric car industry will see the effects of a £9million infrastructure plan, as the Government looks to make an electric charge up station as popular as the standard fuelling Garage in the UK. Major supermarkets have also helped the Government in the way of building charge points at supermarkets to attract the electric car customers and build up the convenience of having an electric car in the way of the Ford Focus Electric.
