Volvo confirm that a new super luxury XC90 is in development

Swedish manufacturer Volvo this past weekend have officially confirmed that a brand new super luxury version of their big selling XC90 model is currently in the midst of being developed and will be all set to arrive on Chinese car markets from next year. The XC90 has been one of the biggest sellers that the Volvo brand has to offer. The very first version of this car was first produced back in 2003 and the vehicle is currently all set to enter its second life cycle on our roads. The latest version of the car has recently began taking orders with a day one edition going on sale for online customers only. This all occurred last week and the car officially sold every unit that went on sale within the space of just two days with just 55 customers in the UK being able to purchase the vehicle before it sold out. Both diesel and petrol engines are offered with the new XC90 and in April of next year the plan from the mass manufacturer is to launch a brand new hybrid version of the car onto our streets.

What is the difference between the standard XC90 and the super luxury version ?

This brand new super luxury version of the car will come in the form of a four seater vehicle. Both the middle and third row of seats that we see come fitted to the brand new XC90 will be removed and the two front seats will be included and similar seats will come fitted to the rear end of the vehicle. The front seats in the XC90 benefit from a lot of features such as electronic adjustment and massaging features. Volvo has also confirmed that this new version of the car will contain these features for the rear passengers also. A lot of interior space and legroom has also been focused on with this new addition to the range during production time. It has been confirmed that a total of three trim levels and three separate power trains will be offered with the XC90 super luxury and the all wheel drive,D5 model is expected to be the big seller amongst the range.

Some technology and gadgets for the car have also been confirmed by Volvo, and with this being said, we see that the super luxury version of the XC90 will see the fittings of a built in sat nav system,a brand new powered tail gate and a keyless entry system too. Both the Hyundai i30 estate and SUV additions from other manufacturers such as Renault ,Peugeot and the Citroen  firm have proven to be ideal contenders for the top spot of the SUV market in the past and have gone head to head with the XC90 for a number of years. We certainly think that the XC90 has officially raised the bar on the SUV market and will maintain a good reputation on the market for man years to come. With Volvo raising the standard with this new XC90, we certainly think that the SUV market will prove to have much heated competition going on throughout the course of the next few years.

When will the XC90 Super luxury arrive ?

It has only been stated at this point in time that the super luxury version of this car is only expected to be made available for Chinese markets although we think that there is a good possibility that the vehicle could find its way to european markets in the future. This version of the XC90 though is expected to go on sale from next year and will be made available for a price tag equivalent to £45,785.
