The Toyota brand are hard at work on developing a brand new driving platform that the company say by the year 2020 will be used in around fifty percent of their vehicle range. The new platform being developed is called the 'TNGA' platform and the new goal of the platform is in order to reduce costs of the development of new Toyota technology and make their vehicles much more efficient. The new 'TNGA' platform will work more efficiently with both manual and automatic transmission systems and according to the brand, will offer more than fifteen percent in added power aswell as a twenty five percent climb in improved fuel economy for their vehicle range. This new driving platform could be something that carries the Japanese firm into the future and helps to bring in even more sales for their vehicle range.
Jaguar have been seen testing a brand new updated version of their F Type model around the famous Nurburgring and the car is looking to give out more power than any other F Type that has come before. The new model was seen wearing a body shell disguise which could point towards to some new exterior bodywork changes for the model. As of what these are yet though remain unconfirmed by the iconic British manufacturer. The significant climb in power for the F Type R-S though is what will demonstrate the new abilities of the vehicle. Around 580 to 600 brake horse power is expected to be announced for the updated model and the car will still carry the same V8 sized, five litre, turbocharged engine unit. We are very excited for the reveal of the upgraded F Type but no signs point towards a reveal anytime soon. More on this developing story as and when we have it.
The latest news to come from Nissan's subsidiary brand Infiniti today is that their brand new QX50 model will officially go on display for the first time from the New York Motor Show which kicks off from next week. This new vehicle will come in the shape and form of a new crossover model and will look to join an ever growing market here in Europe. This new QX50 is to be a revised version of the current model but no images have been revealed of the updated vehicle as of yet so there is not a lot go on for the time being. However we do know to expect some new exterior design features which will see the likes of new alloy wheel designs, new side sills and a raised riding height which will be brought into play to make the driving experience more comfortable than the current model that is enjoying life on the road. The very same engine range is expected to come along with the car when it goes on sale later on this year.
