The Yamaha FZ 1 at the Manchester Motorbike Show
This weekend our team at Gap Insurance 123 visited the Manchester Motorbike Show to give our readers and customers the latest news and views in the motorbike world. Today, we are bringing you the latest on the Yamaha FZ 1.
Yamaha introduced a new range of FZ models in 2013 in the form of the FZ , FZ8 and the FZ6. Each of the models have been introduced at various points over the last number of years, with the first being the FZ1 in 2006.
The FZ 1 model at Yamaha is slightly larger than the other models in the range and has a considerable amount more power to get the model up to speed. The Yamaha FZ 1 has 998cc and has a number of body differences and performance changes.
The Yamaha FZ 1 model has received a number of rave reviews following the styling of the model but has been criticised in the past over the performance of the model. After the criticism the first generation model received, Yamaha have made a number of changes including the suspension on the model and the rear spring.
The Motorbike manufacturer has also updated the ECU mapping on the model as well as making changes to the throttle response.
The mass market motorbike manufacturer has faced heavy competition from the likes of Honda and Kawasaki in the last number of years as the likes of the Ninja and the CR7 have increase both sales figures and market share.
The Ducati brand is also set to be developing a new range of models with a newer different look and feel. This comes after the Audi car manufacturing firm decided to purchase the Ducati brand to rival the success of BMW in the motorbike industry.
The Manchester Motorbike Show features all week on Gap Insurance 123 with a new model review like the Yamaha FZ each day.
